Data recovery
Deleting documents allows users to free up space and reduce the number of documents under control, which is part of everyday document use. Data recovery is an option of retrieving deleted documents from online storage, when the documents cannot be accessed in a usual way. Data recovery allows users to retrieve deleted document revisions, documents and entire workspaces in case they turn out to be deleted too hastily.
Use cases of data recovery
In case of viruses, malware, ransomware or human error some documents might be deleted without user intention. Data recovery allows users to minimize the unintentional harm inflicted on document archives and to reduce the following drop in productivity of document preparation. Data recovery feature allows users to retrieve lost documents within a time frame of 48 hours after deletion. After that documents become irretrievable and must be restored using means that lie outside the Docboards system.
Data recovery provides separate listings for deleted repositories, deleted files and deleted revisions. Each list provides user with per item control, allowing user to restore single revision or entire workspaces.
Layers of data recovery
In conventional document management, files are usually stored on a local hard drive. During cyber incidents or hardware failure important documents can disappear in a few milliseconds. Docboards workspaces can be connected opaquely as local disk, protecting from local hardware failures. In case of virus attack on your computer, document contents can be reverted with no expiration, or recovered within 48 hours limit. In case of our server failures, all data is backed up nightly in same data center and every other week to remote data storage facility, both residing within European Union.
