Audit log
Documents audit log is an automatic, chronological record that tracks every access, assignment, and modification, involving an uploaded document. It works both during website access and WebDAV sharing. Audit records result from document uploads, downloads and transfers within a system. They cannot be altered directly by users and thus ensure data integrity.
Use cases of Audit Log
It allows end-users to review who, when, and how contributed to document preparation. It also works well with document collaboration workflows, that let document owners assign and approve specific tasks to document editors or reviewers.
Audit log allows document owners to see if and when the document was downloaded or modified.
Each document has assignment list with which users interact by providing new document revisions. Owner, editors and other users can later review such interactions and their dates.
Types of Audit Log
Audit log works in three main areas: revisions, file actions, and access log. Revisions contain a list of file modifications, reasons of modification, authors and dates. File actions contain a list of assignments and their executions for a particular file. Access log contains a list of file downloads, users by which a download was requested, date and masked IP address.
